John Legend to star in NBC’s ‘Jesus Christ Superstar Live in Concert!’
Ten-time Grammy winner and multi-platinum R&B/pop star John Legend has been cast in the lead role as Jesus Christ in NBC’s upcoming “Jesus Christ Superstar Live in Concert!” the network announced Tuesday.
The musical, which ran for 711 performances on Broadway from 1971-73, as well as spawning a Top 40 hit, “I Don’t Know How to Love Him” and a No. 1 album soundtrack, will air on NBC on Easter Sunday, April 1, 2018.
