Dallas megachurch pastor Robert Jeffress defended Donald Trump’s reportedly calling Haiti, El Salvador and some African nations as “shithole countries,” saying the president got the “sentiment” correct.
Jeffress, the head of First Baptist Dallas and an adviser to the president, said Friday that Trump was “right on target” when he questioned why the U.S. should permit more immigrants from countries like Haiti and some in Africa during a bipartisan meeting on immigration reform Thursday.
